Lab21’s NP Tech division gains CPA accreditation

Cambridge, UK – 24th March 2009 - BreastHealth UK (BHUK) and Lab21 today announced thLab21, the healthcare diagnostics company, is pleased to announce that its clinical reference laboratory, NP Tech, has become one of the few private sector laboratories in the UK to be awarded CPA accreditation, endorsing the quality of its clinical pathology services.

CPA accreditation will open up the potential for the laboratory to work more closely with the NHS and with new private sector clients, in addition to providing further ratification to existing customers of its quality standards.

The accreditation was awarded to NP Tech by Clinical Pathology Accreditation (UK), the quality assurance agency that verifies the quality compliance of the UK’s NHS and private sector laboratories.

Lab21’s NP Tech laboratory, which is based in Cambridge, carries out salivary hormone testing, food intolerance analysis and clinical biochemistry for customers including private sector health providers, pharmacy chains and nutritionists. Its growing test portfolio also includes infectious diseases, oncology and pharmacogenetics. 

This latest accreditation builds on Lab21’s existing quality assurance portfolio, including the quality management standard ISO 9001:2000 and the US Food & Drug Administration’s 21CFR Part 11, which ensures stringent control of electronic data and signatures.
