Testing for Hereditary Breast & Ovarian Cancer (HBOC) Syndrome
Proactive cancer management through early risk identification
What is BRACAnalysis®?
The Myriad BRACAnalysis® test assesses a woman’s risk of developing breast or ovarian cancer based on detection of mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Individuals with BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations have a 50% (or 1 in 2) chance of passing that mutation on to each of their children.
Who should be tested?
Individuals with a personal and/or family history of any of the following may benefit from BRCA1 and/or BRCA2 mutation testing using BRACAnalysis®:
- Early onset of breast cancer prior to age 50
- Ovarian cancer at any age
- Multiple breast and/or ovarian cancer diagnoses in an individual or a family
- Women of Ashkenazi Jewish descent diagnosed with breast cancer prior to age 50, or ovarian cancer of any age, regardless of family history
- Male breast cancer
How can I order BRACAnalysis® from Lab21?
BRACAnalysis® testing requires a blood sample, and it can only be requested by a medical doctor. To request BRACAnalysis® BRCA testing service, simply contact Lab21 customer services by
