OverviewHow to Order
For HIV-1 drug resistance

Virco®TYPE HIV-1 is a clinically validated HIV-1 resistance test performed on plasma samples.  Virco®TYPE HIV-1 combines genotype and phenotype with additional clinical information, all in one easy-to-use report.

Genotypic information provided by the test
  • Drug resistance – associated mutations in the protease and reverse transcriptase genes in viral genes, grouped by drug class (NRTI/NtRI, NNRTI and PI)
  • A list of all differences from the reference wild type HXB2 virus
Phenotypic information provided by the test

Virco®TYPE HIV-1 is the first HIV-1 drug resistance test using internationally agreed Clinical Cut-Off Values (CCOs). Based on the viral genotype, the test predicts:
  • Resistance to HIV drugs
  • Cross resistance

Virco®TYPE HIV-1 can easily be combined with Tropism by Genotype testing. Lab21 is committed to providing the highest quality services to our customers, and test turnaround time is only 14 working days from the receipt of sample at Lab21.

Virco®TYPE HIV-1 was developed by Virco BVBA, Belgium, and is performed in collaboration with Virco and Lab21 in the UK. For further details on the virco®TYPE HIV-1 test, please visit www.vircolab.com.
