Clinical guidelines recommend HCV genotyping, together with HCV Viral Load testing, for all patients with Hepatitis C. This is because HCV genotype is a key predictor of the rate of disease progression and response to antiviral treatment.

HCV Genotyping from Lab21 is competitively priced and determines the 6 main HCV genotypes and their major subtypes. Testing is performed using the CE-IVD marked Siemens HCV Genotype 2.0 Assay (LiPA), and test turnaround time is only 5 working days.
